Almost there! - week 6 of 2017 with LGRP

It's been about a year and two weeks since I started to work on the pair of acoustic guitars to take part in the Leonardo Guitar Research Project and now finalising the work is very close with only some finetuning left to do on the bubinga guitar.

So it's' a good time to remember how things looked in the beginning, planks of cherry and bubinga was the starting point :)

...and this is what came out.

These are the first acoustic guitars I have ever built. I have learned more than imaginable during this last year and it has been a blast. During the process I have been through every emotion in the book, suspense, joy, happiness, teary eyed, horrified, proud, devastated, doubtful, confident, excited, you name it and I'a pretty sure it was there at one point.

Below you can check out more detailed specification of this pair of guitars.

During the last week of February listening and playing tests will be performed at our school. It will be super exciting to see how the comparisons between the local wood and more traditional guitars turn out! I will let you in on the results once we know :) Meanwhile here's some pics of the bubinga guitar back and side view. Picture credits and big thanks to my classmate Jesse Liukkonen!

Results from LGRP testing in the next post most likely in a few weeks. Have a great day!
