Finally all the little bits and peaces are starting to come together!
A very significant part of the sound of the guitar is the top and the top bracewood so I was eager to start building the sound for this guitar.
Marking the tops makes bonding much more straight forward. The bond here is done on the r10 000 sanding plate.
Now that all the bracewood, bridge plate and spruce patch are on it's time for fine tuning. The idea is to shape the bracing until the desired stiffness for the top is achieved. It is also important to make sure the sounds from different parts of the top are different.

Time to get the back attached to the sides!

Here you can see the fitting for the top bracewoods. And so the top gets glued on.

And of course we wanted to do some research and start gathering data about our instruments.

Here is the body out of the mold and getting a coating of shellac to strengthen the spruce top for next steps.

And with the mold free again it's time for the bubinga sides to go in and they fit perfectly! :)

Sneak peak to next week.
Excited to get to work on the bindings, let's see if the tractor tires we fetched this week will come in handy..
