After a vacation it sometimes takes a while to get going. Mondays we have drawing class to train the visual eye of the luthier to be so that was a good orientation to the week. I chose to start drawing an instrument I definately want to build.

First guitar building item this week was to get the bottom bracewoods glued and shaped.

Then with great excitement and a bit of anxiety I went to create the rosettes cutting them out with my newly found friend the "free-doughnut".
As a side product I now have some quite stylish coasters :)

Fitting the rosettes to the top wood was the natural next step. True precision is needed in this task but with good preparation and a Zen-like state of mind everything went quite smoothly.

Some holes for the sound to get out of.

Still had time to prepare some bracewood also for the tops though the sun outside was shining with bright and warm rays of springtime.

All that glitters is not gold but glamorous anyway! First versions of my manufactorer identification.
