The week felt was over in a breeze and a sense of doing lots of little things left me feeling a little unsure of actual progress.
The trials as well as the beauty and sensitivity in the construction of the acoustic guitar lie in the various big and small parts and tasks involved. Success comes from the quality and care taken in every little step.
Also this week we had some lectures on the acoustics of different parts of the acoustic guitar, very interesting and insightful I think!
Well after that little bit of reflection here's my week in a nutshell:
Sawing away extra length from the sides for seaming.

Neck blanks creation, quite challenging to get the stripe going straight all the way but I think I got it :)

Bracewood radius & rough cut - found something has been living in the spruce..

Started to plane and sand the back of the sides to radius of 6500. For some reason when I had watched the second year classmates working with these disks it seemed somehow mystical and magical so I was excited to give it a try!

Birdseye maple arrived - this beauty is planned go into the binding and decoration of the bubinga model.

Bonus:
Carving practice (something I definately want and need to do more of) & the glass ball I blew during open house last week. Lots of respect to the people that have mastered these two tasks!
